‘Pickle Tree’ Lighting Features Santa
By
Westmont
The 18th annual Westmont Pickle Tree Lighting, a unique Christmas season tradition that attracts hundreds of alumni and community members, is Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 5 p.m. on Kerrwood Lawn. This event is free and open to the public.
Santa Claus will pose for pictures inside Kerrwood Hall. The Cold Spring’s School Choir and the Ahh-Men, Westmont’s talented a cappella group, will kick off the event singing Christmas carols. Hot apple cider and cookies will also be offered.
A mystery tree lighter, chosen by the Westmont Activities Council, will throw down the massive switch to light the redwood tree that many say resembles the shape of a pickle.
